About UsIntellimar was formed in 1996 to provide best-in-class marketing and sales consulting services to US industrial security market participants. The company’s roots were grounded as a management consulting practice focused on a number of strategy disciplines including channel management, branding, product development, federal sales, and corporate strategic planning. The company quickly became successful. As with many entrepreneurial ventures, however, initial focus and competencies often represent the seeds for new and exciting growth opportunities. Such is the case in our story.

About UsIntellimar embraces the entrepreneurial spirit and each of its employees is accustomed to the exciting, visionary and fast-paced environment that marks the ‘business start-up’ lifestyle. In late 1998 Intellimar recognized that many of the recommendations it provided its customers represented opportunities for new and exciting business ventures. Yet, many of these recommendations were not implemented for a variety of reasons. Not wanting these ideas to fall on dry ground, we searched for business incubators that could take advantage of these opportunities. There were no incubators, however, focused specifically on the security market. In classic entrepreneurial style Intellimar decided to serve as its own incubator and began creating new companies.

At that time we recognized that our consulting practice and our new business development focus could not comfortably coincide. Thus, we turned our consulting strengths inward and set out to form our first internal venture. The decision was made to reinvent ourselves, reduce our consulting efforts and begin establishing companies that satisfied underserved areas of the security marketplace.

Intellimar has always embraced certain business principles thatare essential for business success. These include faith, fiscal conservatism, retaining employees that exhibit individual character and integrity and the creation of business leverage. All combined, these allow us to serve our customers in a manner critical to our success. To this day Intellimar remains debt free, has an exceptional team and enjoys industry relationships that allow the company to accomplish exceptional results.

Since the day Intellimar decided to form new companies it has started three;

Intellimar Sales Associates (technical sales representation in the Mid-Atlantic States)
Concentric Security (physical security contractor and integrator)
Blue Ember Technologies (manufacturing)

Today, the wisdom of our growth strategy is self evident. Intellimar has been blessed with a number of recognitions that are a testament to the spirit and teamwork of its employees. In addition to being named the 2004 Ernst & Young Maryland Entrepreneur-of-the-Year and being the recipient of the Baltimore Future 50 Award, Intellimar, Inc. was named the fastest growing security company in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Intellimar was also named the 2nd fastest growing security company in America on Inc. magazine's 23rd annual Inc. 500 list. This is a ranking of the 500 fastest growing privately held businesses in America. Intellimar posted a four-year average annual revenue growth rate of 2,718 percent to make its debut on the 2004 Inc. 500 list announced on October 18, 2004. Intellimar ranks 34th overall among the country's fastest growing companies.
